THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The General Lafayette Inn is one of Pennsylvania's best-known haunted inns. Guests and employees have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, unexplained voices, and objects moving without explanation throughout the historic tavern. Numerous paranormal investigations have documented activity connected to the inn's centuries of history.
Once known as the “Three Tuns,” the inn dates back to the 18th century when General Lafayette used the building during the American Revolution. There is a ghost of an elderly woman who appears in the upstairs dining room; an old man appears near the kitchen. A young woman who was killed on the property is said to haunt the second floor, and more apparitions have been seen on the grounds.
