The General Nathanael Greene Homestead has long been associated with reports of apparitions and unexplained activity believed to involve members of the Greene family. Visitors have described footsteps and mysterious voices.
General Nathanael Greene Homestead is believed to be haunted. Witnesses who have worked at or visited the house museum say strange things happen here. The baby carriage in Elizabeth Margaret’s room has moved, for one thing. Other things that have happen here include apparitions, door latches opening, voices, footsteps, and the sound of a phantom carriage driving up to the house. The smell of baking bread has inexplicably filled the unused kitchen.
