THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Gifford Pinchot National Forest is considered a major center of Bigfoot reports in the Pacific Northwest. Visitors have described large humanoid figures, enormous footprints, unexplained vocalizations, and movement in remote areas of the forest.
Covering more than one million acres in southwestern Washington, Gifford Pinchot National Forest contains extensive old-growth woodland, wilderness areas, volcanic landscapes, and isolated mountain trails. The forest has become closely associated with Sasquatch folklore and reported encounters. Witnesses have claimed to see tall, hair-covered figures, discover unusually large footprints, or hear unexplained howls and knocks from within the woods. Skamania County is also known for a longstanding ordinance discouraging the killing of any alleged Sasquatch.
