THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Housed in a historic 1908 mansion, the Gillett Historical Society museum is said to experience unexplained paranormal activity. Visitors have reported footsteps, mysterious noises, and apparitions believed to be connected to the home's former occupants.

Built in 1908 by Ruth and John Smith, the historic mansion and museum is rumoured to be haunted. Local folk say the ghost is that of Mary Gillett (wife of the town founder), who used to live in a previous residence located on the site of the current structure (the former burnt to the ground after a suspicious fire in early 1908). Ghostly conversation has also been heard emanating from empty rooms.
