THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Formerly known as the Clyde River Hotel, the Green Mountain Lodge has a long history of ghost stories. Guests have reported apparitions, mysterious footsteps, and unexplained noises throughout the historic building.
The 1860’s Green Mountain Lodge, formerly the Clyde River Hotel, is rumoured to be haunted. The third floor appears to be the main source of paranormal activity, due to the fact that many unusual accidents and deaths have occurred up there. The most common apparition is that of a scowling man in a suit (perhaps a former manager), who died after a short illness in an upstairs room. Others spirits include a woman who fell to her death from the cupola, and a ghostly timber sawyer who is heard, but never seen.
