THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Hammill House has long been associated with reports of unexplained paranormal activity connected to its nineteenth-century history. Visitors have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, and sudden cold spots throughout the historic home. Local legends suggest former residents still linger within the building.
Railroad and newspaper man and “Father of Spooner” Frank Hammill, although he died in 1922, is believed to still reside in his house. Owners through the years have reported that he still watches over things.
