Reported Haunting
The Harvey Mansion Historic Inn is associated with reports of ghostly activity connected to its centuries-old history. Guests and staff have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, and objects moving without explanation. The inn remains one of New Bern's better-known haunted landmarks.
Established in the early part of the 1800’s it is one of the last remaining original buildings in the town. People claim that a woman in period dress glides through the dining room and through walls of the restaurant located in this Inn. Some people also say that they hear what sounds like a child laughing.
