THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The historic Emmaus Asylum campus outside Marthasville dates to 1859, when it began as a German Evangelical seminary. In 1893, the property became an asylum and home where generations of residents lived, worked, worshipped, and died. Today, the surviving Setz Building, Administration Building, and church have developed a formidable paranormal reputation. Visitors and investigators have reported phantom footsteps, shadow figures, unexplained voices, cold spots, and other strange activity throughout the old wards and corridors. The property now hosts ghost tours and overnight paranormal investigations.
Ghost Atlas has a published record for this location, but a full narrative has not yet been added.
