THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Helen Hunt Falls is associated with reports of a mysterious woman in white and other unexplained apparitions seen near the waterfall after dark. Visitors have described strange voices, shadow figures, and an unsettling atmosphere along the trails. The scenic location has become one of Colorado Springs' best-known haunted landmarks.
Helen Hunt Falls, on Cheyenne Creek in the North Cheyenne Cañon Park, is named for Helen Maria Hunt Jackson (1830–1885), a poet, writer and activist on behalf of Native Americans. The falls are said to be haunted by the spirits of many people who have lost their lives here. Psychics have reported a great deal of spiritual energy here.
