THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Madison's Heritage Hall is associated with apparitions of former residents, unexplained sounds and children laughing upstairs, while one bedroom has become known locally as the Ghost Room.
Heritage Hall is a nineteenth-century historic house in downtown Madison operated as a museum. Madison tourism and local historical sources acknowledge a long tradition of unusual experiences in the house. Reported activity includes unexplained sights and sounds, the presence of former residents and the sound of children laughing on the upper floor when no children are present. One upstairs bedroom has acquired the nickname the Ghost Room because of repeated stories connected with it. The reported phenomena remain anecdotal but are a well-established part of the house's modern history.
