Historic Fort Wayne is associated with disembodied footsteps and voices, shadowy or full-bodied figures and other unexplained activity reported throughout the nineteenth-century military complex.
Historic Fort Wayne was constructed in the nineteenth century on the Detroit River and includes barracks, officers’ quarters and other military structures. It has long attracted paranormal investigators and local ghost stories. Reports include phantom footsteps, disembodied voices, figures seen in or around historic buildings and unexplained sensations of another presence. The fort is a real historic site and access should follow the city’s tour and event rules.
