Reported Haunting
The former York prison is associated with reports of shadow figures, strange sounds, and an unsettling atmosphere connected to its long correctional history.
This historic prison is now abandoned, but was built in 1906 and decommissioned in 1979. Visitors have reported being followed around the building by the apparitions of criminals, and have seen and smelt someone lighting a cigarette when there is no one around.
