THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Guests reportedly hear the ghost of a servant named Linda weeping in the Blue Room after a tragic love affair ended in two deaths.
Hotel Union Øye is associated with the tragic story of Linda, a servant who reportedly fell in love with a married German officer. According to The Hidden North, the couple stayed together in the hotel's Blue Room whenever the officer visited. After he was denied a divorce, the officer died by suicide, and Linda later took her own life. Her ghost is reportedly heard weeping inside the Blue Room. The hotel gives guests a silver bowl of garlic, which can be kept inside the room to discourage paranormal activity or placed outside by those hoping for an encounter.
