THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Hyde Hall has longstanding reports of phantom footsteps, whispers, unexplained knocking, distant music, and apparitions throughout the historic mansion.
Built between 1817 and 1834 for George Clarke, Hyde Hall is a National Historic Landmark overlooking Otsego Lake. The mansion has accumulated more than a century of paranormal reports. Visitors, staff, and investigators have described footsteps in otherwise empty corridors, whispered voices, unexplained knocking, distant music, and full-bodied apparitions. Hyde Hall openly embraces this history through seasonal ghost tours and its annual Hyde & Shriek candlelight tours.
