Reported Haunting
Indian Spring Cemetery is associated with reports of apparitions, unexplained lights, and mysterious voices after sunset. Visitors have described shadow figures moving among the graves and sudden cold spots throughout the cemetery. Local ghost stories have given the burial ground a haunted reputation.
This is one of the oldest cemeteries in the area – there’s even a former Governor of Florida buried here, named Albert Gilchrist (d. 1926). Lots of activity is reported, including ghost lights, disembodied noises that sound like screaming and moaning, and shadow figures.
