THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station is associated with local stories of a ghostly lifeguard who continues to watch over the shoreline. Witnesses have reported seeing a lone figure near the beach at night who disappears without explanation. Others have described unexplained whistles and footsteps near the station after dark.

This building dates back to the war, although the principle of lifesaving in the locality dates back to the turn of the twentieth century. The lifeguard station was used to treat patients of ocean-related accidents, and is rumoured to be haunted by a ghostly drowning victim and a lifesaver known as ‘Todd’.
