THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Staff and inmates have reported ghostly children, unexplained tapping, phantom keys striking cell bars, voices and an unusual angel-like apparition.
Paranormal stories from Jefferson Correctional Institution include sightings and sounds attributed to ghostly children, unexplained tapping on sleeping inmates, and the apparition of an unusually large angel-like figure reported in one dormitory. Officers have also described hearing keys striking cell bars only to find no one responsible. Former staff housing residents have reported hearing children laughing and playing near areas where no children were present.
