The former furniture store and mortuary is associated with ghost sightings, including reports from workers of a mysterious young boy appearing inside the historic building.
The historic J.H. Vogel Building in downtown Cody once housed a furniture business in the front and undertaking operations in the rear. A morgue and embalming area were located in the building, and a freight elevator was used to transport coffins between the basement and visitation area. The unusual history of the property has been accompanied by reports of ghost sightings, including recurring accounts of a mysterious young boy seen inside the building.
