The Kansas State Capitol has served as the center of Kansas government since the nineteenth century and is associated with stories of unexplained activity after hours. Employees have reported phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, shadow figures, and unusual encounters throughout the historic building. Its long political history has inspired local ghost stories.
