Reported Haunting
La Fonda on the Plaza is renowned for reports of several resident spirits, including apparitions, phantom footsteps, and unexplained encounters throughout the hotel.
Reportedly haunted by several different apparitions. One who is dubbed “The Judge” and prone to swooping through the hallways. In addition there is an oft-reported sighting of a man who walks through the dining room and jumps into a hole and disappears. The sight of the “hole” is where the former well of the square was situated. There are several other reported ghosts, including a possible ghost bride.
