THE STORY

Reported Haunting

La Placita Dining Rooms occupies one of Albuquerque's oldest buildings and is associated with reports of paranormal activity. Employees have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, unexplained voices, and objects moving without explanation after closing. The historic adobe structure has earned a longstanding haunted reputation.

La Placita Dining Rooms is a restaurant serving New Mexico cuisine housed in an 1880 building originally known as Casa Armijo. La Placita Dining Rooms was established in 1935 and is rumored to be haunted by at least four ghosts, especially in the women’s restroom and the upstairs area. The apparition of a young girl appears in the mirrors of the women’s restroom, once part of her bedroom. She is believed to have died here in the late 1880s. A misty apparition, cold spots, and names whispered into employees’ ears also have been reported.
