Ladd School served as Rhode Island's state institution for people with developmental disabilities for more than seventy years before closing in 1994. Visitors have reported shadow figures, phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, and unsettling activity throughout the abandoned campus. Its difficult history has made it one of New England's best-known paranormal locations.
