Legend tells of a mysterious stranger who arrived at Loftus Hall during a storm and was discovered to have a cloven hoof before vanishing through the roof. A young woman named Anne Tottenham was supposedly traumatized by the encounter and died after years of confinement, and her apparition is said to have haunted the mansion ever since.
