THE STORY

Reported Haunting

The McMillion Hotel, also known as the Vivian Hotel, is associated with reports of paranormal activity connected to its early history. Guests have reported apparitions, unexplained footsteps, mysterious voices, and shadow figures throughout the building. The hotel has become one of Antigo's notable haunted landmarks.

Originally the Vivian Hotel and often misspelled as McMillan Hotel, this establishment was closed in 2003 and demolished in 2007. The hotel, built in 1887, was said to be haunted by its original owner, who had committed suicide in Room 21. If his ghost remained here, he was probably not alone: Reports say there had been 18 deaths here between 1970 and 2003 when the hotel closed. Folks have reported, among other strange things, seeing black shadow figures and being pushed by unseen hands.
