Reported Haunting
The historic Montañez Adobe is associated with apparitions believed to be former residents of the early San Juan Capistrano settlement. Visitors have reported unexplained voices, footsteps, and shadowy figures within and around the adobe.
This 1794 abode, built for artisans and soldiers, is reputedly haunted by the original deed holder. Visitors have apparently been chased out of the building by a hovering white light, while others claim to have heard chanting coming from the building late at night.
