The TNT Area is one of the central locations in the 1966 Mothman legend. Visitors continue to report unease, strange shadows and unusual experiences around the abandoned wartime bunkers.
The abandoned bunkers and concrete igloos of the former West Virginia Ordnance Works became central to the Mothman legend after a series of strange sightings near Point Pleasant in 1966. Witnesses described a large winged humanoid with glowing red eyes. The TNT Area remains one of the locations most closely associated with the Mothman story.
