THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Myrna Loy Center occupies Helena's former county jail, where the basement once contained solitary-confinement cells. Employees and visitors have reported unexplained voices, footsteps, shadowy movement, and an oppressive presence below the theater.
The Myrna Loy Center for Performing Arts is believed to be haunted by spirits from its past. That’s because in its past, the building was the Lewis and Clark County Jail. Especially haunted, some say, is the basement, where the solitary confinement inmates were kept.
