THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Clet Hall at Niagara University is associated with reports of paranormal activity experienced by students over many years. Witnesses have described unexplained footsteps, shadow figures, mysterious voices, and doors moving without explanation. The residence hall is considered one of the university's most haunted buildings.
Niagara University’s Clet Hall was the first building constructed after its founding as a seminary in 1860. An 1864 fire killed student Thomas Hopkins, who was said to be seen pleading for help from an upper-story window before he died. Now, his ghost is said to roam the halls of his former home opening doors and turning on lights or water faucets.
