THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Two areas of Occidental College have traditionally been associated with ghost stories, including reports of unexplained activity in campus buildings and around the grounds. Students have described apparitions, strange noises, and other disturbances attributed to unidentified spirits connected with the college's past.
Two spots at Occidental College are rumored to be haunted. Erdman Hall is said to be haunted by two spirits: a young person who plays tricks like turning water faucets or lights on and off or writes messages on the walls, and a dark entity that inhabits a closet. Newcomb Hall is said to be haunted by the ghost of a student who hanged herself in a second-floor dorm room.
