Mirror Lake is associated with the Lady of the Lake, a female apparition reportedly seen floating above the water or walking along its edge. Campus lore also connects the area with the 1903 death of Dr. Frederick Clark near the site of present-day Pomerene Hall.
Mirror Lake at Ohio State University has a couple of ghosts. One is a student who drowned there in the 1960s, and is sometimes heard splashing and screaming. The other is a jogger who was killed nearby. The jogger apparition creates a cold breeze as he runs and keeps peering backward over his shoulder.
