Reported Haunting
The Ohio Statehouse preserves numerous legends involving former lawmakers, soldiers, and employees said to remain within the building. Visitors and staff have reported apparitions, unexplained footsteps, and voices echoing through otherwise empty chambers and corridors.
The Ohio Statehouse is a Greek Revival building that houses the government of Ohio. It is said to be haunted by former worker Tom Bateman, whose ghost appears on the staircase at 5 p.m. daily. The ghost is also said to turn lights of and on and move objects.
