Reported Haunting
Built during the 1850s, the Old Bell County Jail is said to be haunted by former inmates and jailers. Visitors have reported apparitions, slamming cell doors, footsteps, and unexplained voices.
Dating back to the 1850’s, the old county jail is now a private residence. Reports say a glaring man, possibly a former prisoner, was seen staring down into the street when the place was for sale for a period of time. Upon investigation, the building was empty.
