The Old Gilchrist County Jail has a reputation for paranormal activity attributed to former prisoners held within its cells during four decades of operation. Visitors and investigators have reported unexplained voices, footsteps, shadowy figures, and other disturbances throughout the abandoned jail.
Old Gilchrist County Jail has been open since 1928 and closed since 1968. Its a 2 story building with 3 cells downstairs and 5 upstairs. It has been visited by many a paranormal persons investigating the activity. It is most definitely haunted. There have been photo shoots and movies are being filmed there and many paranormal groups to visit the jail. Small but packed with activity.
