THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The former Leon County Jail site is associated with a crying female apparition in period clothing, shadow figures and strong sensations of an unseen presence.
The former Leon County Jail complex on Municipal Way has a paranormal reputation associated with its years as a detention facility. Ted Bundy was among the prisoners held at the old jail. Reports from employees include a crying woman in period clothing wandering the halls, shadow figures and an overpowering sensation that an unseen presence is nearby. A later local correction to the FloridaHauntedHouses listing identifies 2825 Municipal Way as the historic jail site rather than the newer jail on Appleyard Drive.
