THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Old Santa Fe Depot of Guthrie, Oklahoma, is famously rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a former Harvey House restaurant manager's wife who lived upstairs when the station opened in 1903. Known locally as Mrs. Harvey, her spectral apparition is frequently spotted by onlookers as she stares silently out of the depot's upper-floor windows. Paranormal investigators and local ghost tour groups also report experiencing disembodied voices, heavy footsteps, and residual energy from the thousands of pioneers who passed through during the 1889 Land Run era.
As of January 2013, this 1900s train depot is no longer in operation, and stands empty and for sale. The old Harvey House restaurant was here, and the Harvey family lived upstairs for years. Legend has it that Mrs. Harvey’s ghost still lingers here, and has been seen peeking out the upstairs windows.
