Reported Haunting
The Old Sweet Shop—historically known as Captain Nye's and located in the restored 1846 John Dredge building—is allegedly haunted by the playful spirits of ghostly children. Employees and visitors at the property have frequently reported hearing the disembodied sound of these phantom kids whispering inside the restrooms. Others working in the historic space have documented hearing unexplainable clanking and rattling noises overnight, reminiscent of glass bottles being moved by unseen hands.
This historic building turned sweet shop is haunted by a whole horde of ghostly children. Staff have heard running footsteps and ghostly voices, but upon investigation, have found nothing.
