THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Olde Harbour Inn is famously associated with a resident ghost known as Hank, believed in local lore to have been a worker killed in a fire at the property. Guests have reported unexplained cigar smoke, objects moving on their own, the sound of coins dropping, and other playful disturbances attributed to him.
The inn was originally built in 1812, but that building was destroyed by fire in the 1890s. The owners rebuilt over the original foundation. It was an oil company and blue-jean factory until it closed, and was vacant for over two decades. In 1987, it opened as the upscale Olde Harbour Inn. The staff tell of a ghost named Hank who smells as if he smokes cigars. Witnesses say Hank likes to move people’s belongings and drop coins from the ceiling.
