THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Oregon State Capitol has accumulated enough paranormal stories to inspire an entire book about its reported ghosts. Employees and visitors have described phantom footsteps on marble floors, doors slamming without assistance, and voices heard in empty rooms.
At the Oregon State Capitol, many unexplained occurrences have been reported. A board member, Sandra Allen, has even written a book called GHOSTS IN THE CAPITOL, published in 2002 by the Oregon Legislative and Historical Information Group. Witnesses to the hauntings have described disembodied footsteps on the marble floors, doors that slam shut by themselves and unexplained soft voices. Also, an apparition of a deceased 1978 representative has shown up after hours.
