Reported Haunting
The Orman House is associated with reports of ghostly apparitions believed to be connected to former residents. Visitors have reported phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, shadow figures, and unexplained cold spots throughout the historic home. It remains one of Apalachicola's notable haunted landmarks.
The 1838 house was built by merchant and civic leader Thomas Orman, and now sits in Orman House Historic State Park. Local legend says although the land is now publicly owned, some of the Orman family members may never have left it. Witnesses have heard unexplained footsteps and sounds in the night.
