THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The historic Pigford Building in Meridian, Mississippi, is famously rumored to be haunted by a full-body apparition of a lady in an old-fashioned white dress. Local folklore claims the spirit has an aversion to men, frequently slamming doors and throwing objects when male employees or visitors enter the premises. Late-night workers and investigators have also documented experiencing poltergeist-like activity, including disembodied laughter, phantom footsteps, and unplugged vacuum cleaners that turn themselves on.
HauntedPlaces.org lists Pigford Building as a reportedly haunted location.
