THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Established as an 1830s family cemetery, Pitcher Cemetery is associated with reports of apparitions, mysterious lights, and unexplained sounds after dark. Local legend holds that several restless spirits still watch over the historic burial ground.

Pitcher Cemetery began as an 1830s family plot for the Thomas Pitcher family. It is also a burial spot for Revolutionary War soldiers, as well as some mass graves, one for Civil War soldiers and another for a group of pioneers who died of cholera around 1850. Orbs, strange noises and a floating apparition all have been reported here.
