Reported Haunting
Staff members at the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse have reported a variety of unexplained experiences within the historic structure. Accounts include mysterious footsteps, voices, and apparitions believed to be connected to former keepers or others associated with the lighthouse and surrounding island.
Several staff-members here have had ghostly experiences. It is said that one lighthouse keeper from long ago had a daughter who died of fever. Her spirit can sometimes be heard in the lighthouse, either humming a tune, bouncing a ball, or playing jacks on the second floor.
