THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Pump House Restaurant and Saloon in Fairbanks, Alaska—originally a 1930s water pumping station that supplied gold dredging operations—is haunted by the restless spirits of Gold Rush miners who endured grueling, lonely lives and fatal accidents in the area. Kitchen staff and waitresses frequently report seeing a distinct, glowing white figure emerge from the kitchen doors, while late-night cleaning crews routinely hear disembodied voices and whispers echoing through the empty, historic building.
The site was originally a pump house for a mine that closed during the early 1900’s. A white apparition has been seen in the kitchen by staff, and ghostly voices are heard after the restaurant has closed down for the night.
