THE STORY
Reported Haunting
Rancho de Corrales (historically known as the Territorial House) is legendary for a dark, tragic history involving a violent family dispute where a father allegedly barricaded himself inside the home after a fatal shooting. While the historic 200-year-old adobe hacienda permanently burned down in 2012, local folklore states that the property's residual negative energy lingers on the grounds. Another popular story in the immediate area centers on a nearby 1850s home haunted by the friendly ghost of a woman named Maria, whose spirit supposedly returned to the property after a historic flood disturbed her gravesite.
**Rancho de Corrales burned down in June 2012. No word on whether it is to be rebuilt or whether the hauntings remain post-fire.
