Reported Haunting
Rancho Los Cerritos has been associated with ghost stories involving the spirits of Native Americans whose graves were reportedly discovered in the surrounding area. Visitors have described apparitions, unexplained sounds, and other unusual activity around the historic adobe and its grounds.
Some 50 Native American graves were uncovered here when the golf course was being laid out. Immediately afterward, guests and employees had the feeling that they were being watched or followed, objects would move by themselves, a rocking chair started rocking back and forth for no reason, some even reported voices. One of the ghosts was picked up to be Don Juan Temple, upset that his land was sold to make room for a golf course, the other was said to be an evil entity. Several other spirits are said to be here as well.
