THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Red Cross House, also known as the Stoffel House, is associated with reports of paranormal activity dating back to Anaheim's early history. Visitors have described apparitions, phantom footsteps, mysterious voices, and unexplained cold spots within the historic home. It has earned a local haunted reputation.
The 1894 Red Cross House, aka the Stoffel House or the Woelke-Stoffel House, was built by John Woelke and purchased by the Stoffel Family in 1907. The house was moved to Founder’s Park and is now on display. It is rumored to be haunted by the original caretaker, whose eyes in a portrait seem to watch visitors.
