THE STORY

Reported Haunting

Originally opened in 1925 by hotel magnate Walter Schroeder, the Retlaw Theater is said to share the same restless spirit that haunts several of his former properties. Visitors have reported phantom footsteps, doors opening on their own, ghostly applause, and shadowy figures inside the historic theater.

Retlaw is Walter spelled backwards. The theater was owned and operated by Walter Schroeder, and he still lingers here in spirit. Witnesses have heard footsteps, clapping, creaking of theater seats, doors that open on their own, and figures that show up in the basement.
