THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The historic Sagamore Resort has long been associated with ghost stories involving former guests and employees. Visitors have reported apparitions, phantom footsteps, and unexplained noises throughout the property.
This restored 1883 resort is believed to have been haunted at least since the 1950s. One of the spirits was a little boy who used to sell found golf balls to the pro shop for extra cash. He was killed after being hit by a car, and his spirit is still seen chasing golf balls on the course. Inside one of the resort’s restaurants, The Trillium, a ghost couple can be seen walking down the stairs. They are said to be among the resort’s original guests. And at Mr. Brown’s, the resort’s other restaurant, the ghost of a tall woman wearing white spoke to a prep cook, then walked through him and disappeared. The cook quit immediately!
