THE STORY
Reported Haunting
The Sailor Bar area is associated with legends of the ghostly "Lady in White" who is said to appear along the nearby river. Witnesses have reported apparitions, mysterious lights, and unexplained voices near the historic crossing after dark. The location remains one of Northern California's enduring ghost legends.
Sailor Bar is a historic park that was named as such because the area was originally settled by gold-seeking sailors. Now visitors can go rafting, fishing and horseback riding here or else just check out the site’s natural beauty. It is said that the park has a ghost, as well: The apparition of a person in wet fishing attire, believed to be a drowning victim, has been known to approach park visitors.
