THE STORY

Reported Haunting

San Fernando Cathedral is associated with shadow figures, apparitions, photographic anomalies and ghostly figures described as a man in black and hooded, monk-like spirits.

San Fernando Cathedral traces its history to the eighteenth century and is among San Antonio's most historic landmarks. During work at the cathedral in 1936, remains and fragments of clothing were reportedly discovered near the altar, later becoming connected in folklore with defenders of the Alamo. Paranormal accounts include shadowy figures, unexplained images or orbs in photographs and apparitions toward the rear of the church. Witnesses have described a man dressed in black and mysterious figures wearing hooded, monk-like clothing.
